We expressly point out that negative test results only provide information about the HIV infection status up to 6 weeks ago and the syphilis infection status up to 3 months ago.

HIV/syphilis rapid tests
Advantage of rapid tests: you receive an individual pre- and post-test consultation immediately. The test result for HIV is reliable if the risk has been present for more than 6 weeks. If you come in earlier, we will recommend further tests if necessary after a detailed consultation and examination.
The test result for syphilis is reliable if contact was made 3 months ago. If there are indications of syphilis before this time has elapsed: have yourself examined by us, other laboratory tests can be carried out if necessary.
